Benjamin F.Bertolet - b. 8/16/1818, d. 2/14/1867

Short entries each day, mostly about the weather. Mentions making land surveys, likely a surveyor. No mention of other family members except "mother died July 19, 1863 - age 78y 10m. 4d." Interesting memorandum on prices in 1864 diary. 1867 diary blank after 2.8.1867.

Joseph M. Bertolet - b. 11/22/1851, d. 10/8/1915

1869 diary labeled "Private diary No.1" 1870 diary includes pricing information, inscribed "Joseph Moses Bartolet." Interesting cash account in 1873 diary. 1875 "What is hearin written refers to myself only unless other parties are mentioned." April 6, 1875 moved from Roberts to Cambria Mills. 1877 describes train wreck on Pickering Valley Railroad on Oct. 4, 1/2 mile east of Kimberton, including list of those killed. 1880 looks like different author but no name. Nov. 6, 1915 last entry by Joseph, "I will now take up this part of his work - B.F.B."

Benjamin F. - b. 1878, d. 5/20/1961

Nov. 8, 1915 "father Joseh M. died." No diary for 1916. From 1917 on, name in front is "B.F. Bertolet, 123 Walnut St., Spring City, Pa. Tel. No. 1612" No diary for 1927. Weather reports. Some notes on WWII events. Registered for draft April 28, 1940. July 16, 1941 took job at storekeeper at Pennhurst. Last diary entry Feb. 27, 1961, diary taken over by daughter, Mrs. Helen Bertolet Frederick.
