Diary of Jeannette B. Ashbridge of West Whiteland, 1888. Jeannette is 31 on January 13. She speaks of George or G. A. everyday (husband?). Also speaks of many people coming and going. They all use the train often - always notes time of train. Spends four days in Baltimore. Talks of sleighing in January, mentions children getting valentines, going to school, etc. Family members get sick with usual problems and have the Dr. in frequently. Mentions going to Whiteland, Fraser, West Chester, Glenlock, Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, Coatesville, Marshallton.
George appears to go to work somewhere by train and travels to other cities often.
Mentions hen house and egg count everyday. Talks of spending a couple of days in Cape May and other activities including an eclipse of the full moon on January 22, 1888.
Seems unwell on many occasions. Dr. often not sure of ailments.
Diary ends in October.
Jeannette B. Ashbridge's obituary is in the clipping file. She dies in Chester County Hospital, age 64 on June 15, 1916. George her husband still living, also son G. A. Jr., and Mary. Son William deceased. Members of Episcopal Church. Names listed of men assisting at funeral.
